Approving requests
This flow covers approving or denying shift change requests and leave (PTO) requests. Workers submit from the worker app; owners and (where applicable) managers approve from the dashboard or Manage section. For the full scheduling flow, see Scheduling and shift changes; for PTO, see PTO lifecycle.
Shift change requests
Where to go: Shift requests (dashboard) for owners; Manage → Shift requests for managers (only their locations). The page lists pending requests: worker, shift (date, time, location), and type of change (e.g. swap, give away).
Approve: The shift is updated (e.g. reassigned to another worker or unassigned). The requester and any affected workers see the update in their Shifts. Deny: The request is rejected; the shift stays as it was. After you approve or deny, the request disappears from the pending list.
Leave (PTO) requests
Where to go: Leave requests (dashboard). The page lists pending PTO requests: worker, dates, type (e.g. vacation, sick), optional note.
Approve: The request is accepted; the worker’s balance is reduced (if applicable) and the dates are marked as time off. Deny: The request is rejected; the worker sees the denial in their PTO tab. You can also switch to the PTO calendar tab to see approved time off across the team.
