The Shift requests page lists shift change requests from workers. Only owners can access it. Workers may request to swap a shift with someone else, give away a shift, or change their assignment. You review each request and approve, deny, or (where supported) apply a swap.

List of pending requests

The page shows pending shift change requests. Each item typically includes:

  • The worker who submitted the request
  • The shift (date, time, location)
  • Request type (e.g. swap with another worker, give away shift, cover request)
  • If it’s a swap: the other worker involved (or “unassigned”)

Approve, deny, or swap

For each request you can:

  • Approve — Accept the change. For a swap, the shift is reassigned from the requester to the other worker (or unassigned if they’re giving it away). The Schedule and the workers’ apps update accordingly.
  • Deny — Reject the request. The shift stays as originally assigned; the requester sees the denial.

Some flows may let you adjust the assignment (e.g. pick a different replacement) before confirming. After you approve or deny, the request is removed from the pending list.

How workers request changes

Workers open the worker app and go to their Shifts. From a shift they can request a swap (e.g. with another employee) or to give away the shift. The request is sent to the dashboard and appears on this page. Workers see the status (pending, approved, denied) in their app.
