Postavke: PTO politike

PTO (paid time off) policies define how much leave workers get and how it’s calculated. Only owners can create and edit policies. You can also set holidays, which may affect balances and approval. These settings directly affect the Leave requests page and how workers see their balance in Time off. The page is reached from the main Settings overview via the PTO policies card.

Creating and editing policies

You can create a new PTO policy with a name (e.g. “Annual leave”, “Sick leave”) and configure:

  • Days per year (or period) — how many days the policy grants
  • Whether unused days carry over to the next period and any cap on carry-over
  • Other rules your app supports (e.g. accrual rate, max balance)

Edit an existing policy to change these values. Changes usually apply to future periods or to the next balance calculation; already-approved leave is typically not recalculated.

Assigning policies to employees

After creating policies, you assign one (or more) to each employee (e.g. from the employee edit form or a dedicated “PTO policy” field). The worker’s balance and allowed request types are derived from the assigned policy. If you change a policy, workers with that policy see updated balances as the app recalculates.

Holidays

You can define holidays (company-wide or per policy): date and optionally a name. Holidays can be used to:

  • Exclude certain dates from “working days” when calculating balances or minimum notice
  • Show on the PTO calendar so you don’t schedule leave on top of a holiday by mistake
  • Apply policy-specific rules (e.g. some policies may deduct holidays from balance, others not)

How they affect leave requests

When a worker submits a leave request, the app checks their assigned policy: balance, request type, and any rules (e.g. blackout dates, minimum notice). When you approve a request, the balance is reduced according to the policy. Holidays may reduce the number of “leave days” deducted or affect eligibility. Configuring policies and holidays here ensures consistent and fair handling of all leave requests.
